Changing your SiteDetour subscription plan
Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription. Monthly vs annual billing, proration, payment methods.
Overview
Your subscription controls the caps on redirects, Smart Links, audiences, landing pages, and custom domains available to your organization. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from the Billing page.
Who can change subscriptions
Only the organization Owner can modify the subscription or payment method. Administrators and lower roles see the Billing page as read-only.
Available plans
Current plan tiers visible at Billing:
- Personal — entry-level plan for individuals and small projects.
- Professional — for small-to-medium businesses.
- Business — for scaled organizations with Teams, SSO, and API add-ons.
- Enterprise — custom plans with SLAs, custom CA pinning, and dedicated support. Contact sales.
Each plan lists the caps for source domains, Smart QRs, landing pages, audiences, team members, and other features. The exact values are authoritative on the Billing page.
Monthly vs. annual billing
Toggle Annual Billing at the top of the plan grid. Annual billing saves ~5% vs. monthly and is a single charge instead of 12. Switching to annual mid-billing-cycle prorates the remaining monthly charge against the annual commitment.
Upgrading
Click Subscribe on the target plan. SiteDetour:
- Calculates the proration against your current plan.
- Charges the delta immediately via your current payment method.
- Upgrades caps on your account within seconds.
Any resources that exceeded the old plan's cap but fit within the new one become writable again.
Downgrading
Click Subscribe on a lower plan. If your current resource usage exceeds the lower plan's caps, the change is blocked with an explanation. Delete or archive resources until usage fits, then retry.
Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to higher-plan features until then. No refund is issued for the unused portion of the current cycle.
Canceling
Click Cancel Subscription at the bottom of the Billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Until then, SiteDetour continues serving your redirects and smart links. At cycle end, the account is frozen — resources remain but are inaccessible for editing until you resubscribe.
After 90 days in a frozen state, the account is scheduled for deletion. Re-activate before then to preserve data.
Payment method
Update the credit card under Payment Method on the Billing page. Click Edit, enter the new card via Stripe Elements, save. The new card is used for the next billing cycle.
SiteDetour does not store card numbers directly — Stripe handles the card tokenization and storage. Only the last 4 digits and expiration date are visible to SiteDetour.
Billing history and invoices
Click View History under Billing History to open the full invoice log. Invoices are downloadable as PDF. Stripe also emails an invoice after each successful charge.
Using the Stripe portal
For advanced billing management (changing billing address, VAT/tax numbers, retrying failed payments), click Manage in Stripe on the Billing page. This opens your organization's Stripe customer portal.
Troubleshooting failed payments
If a charge fails (expired card, insufficient funds), SiteDetour retries for several days and sends dunning emails. If no card update happens, the account enters a grace period. Update the card as soon as possible to avoid account freeze.
